Middleton Wisconsin

Middleton is a western suburb of Madison, its estimated population for 2006 was 16,595. In July 2009, CNN/Money and Money magazine ranked Middleton the fourth best place to live in the United States.

Middleton is a place of small-town charm; booming economy; extensive parks and bike trails. Many Middletonians commute to Madison, but Middleton proper has a strong pool of jobs too, mainly in the pharmaceutical, tech and medical industries. After business hours, Middleton has more going on than you might expect for a town of 17,000. The beer garden at the Capital Brewery is host to corporate mixers, and there are good restaurants downtown.

But make no mistake: Family life is what Middleton is about. In the summer you’ll see parents and kids plying the bike trails of the conservancy, splashing in the town's waterslide-equipped pool or sailing on Lake Mendota. On the downside, winter is tough, and there's not great ethnic diversity.

Fall is a great time to experience Middleton’s big-city amenities and small-town charm. Shop downtown Middleton and the stylish Greenway Station. Bicycle along Middleton’s award-winning community trail system. Go bird watching and enjoy outstanding fall color on the nature trails of Middleton’s Pheasant Branch Conservancy. Then, relax in one of Middleton’s excellent spas.

Just 10 minutes from downtown Madison, Middleton offers the area’s very best hotels. And Middleton’s excellent restaurants offer you a dazzling variety of settings and cuisines. With so much to offer, it’s no wonder Middleton is a perennial favorite on Money Magazine’s annual list of “Best Places to Live.”
